A huge thank you to Fodilicious for working with me on this blog post.
Hi and welcome back.
I hope you enjoyed last Thursday blog post where I shared my first time at the Allergy and Free From Show 2019 hosted in London last weekend. If you missed the blog post, you can check it out here. I loved spending the day wandering around the show and trying lots of new gluten free products. It was a great place to get out of the rut I had fallen into with my diet. I really enjoyed meeting new gluten free brands and trying their products.
One such brand is Fodilicious which you can find their website here. Fodilicious is the first UK company which provides meals that are low FODMAP and has gluten free, dairy free and vegan options too. They were shortlisted in 2019 for the Free From awards and are awaiting the Official Cross Grain Certification from Coeliac UK. They deliver fresh gluten free meals to your door in sustainable packaging which have a shelf life of 5 days or can be freezed too.
At the Allergy and Free From Show they were offering samples of their new gluten free, dairy free and vegan product; Cookie Buttons*. I was just leaving the show when I walked past their stand and just couldn’t walk past without trying them. They are an amazing snack and at 48 Kcal/ serving I feel slightly less guilty about eating a whole pack on the journey home. Here are 5 things you need to know about the Cookie Buttons*. I hope you enjoy. I am off to enjoy another bag! C. -x-
1. So what are the Cookie Buttons*?
The most important question we need to answer, is what are the Cookie Buttons? They are a bite-sized gluten and dairy free chocolate cookie in the shape of a chocolate button. They have a thin shortbread texture that doesn’t crumble and hold their shape well. You can taste the chocolate but the sweetness is not overwhelming, it is the perfect blend. The Cookie Buttons* come in a 27g pack which serves 2 (or just me) containing 48KCal for 6 biscuits. They are perfect as a quick snack for travelling or when you are out and about.
2. What are the ingredients?
The Cookie Buttons are free from 14 declarable allergens and suitable for those following a Low FODMAP diet. They are made in an allergy factory in Scotland by Fodilicious. Here is the ingredient list below.
3. Where can you find these Cookie Buttons?
Currently, you can only purchase the Cookie Buttons on the Fodilicious website. They are £12 including postage and packaging for 6 packs, £21.50 for 12 packs or £36 for 24 packs. The website also has a range of fresh meals that can be delivered to your door. Personally, I can’t wait to try the Chicken Pesto Penne Pasta meal. You can either order individually or sign up for the subscription service where you can receive a repeat order every week or month. Snacks are posted free of charge.
4. Where can I enjoy these Cookie Buttons?
For me, I have found the Cookie Buttons*to be a perfect treat when I have been travelling this summer. I have a very big sweet tooth and struggle with 3 large meals. I feel better and more energised when I have regular snacks throughout the day. In hot cars, most chocolate snacks turn to a liquid mess held together with the wrapper; not the best when I get hangry. I have found these Cookie Buttons* to be the perfect balance of getting that chocolate craving without worrying about the mess. I also love enjoying a handful with a cup of tea and chilling out in the evening. I am looking into recipes that I can use them too. My friends and family love them too.
5. They are addictive.
Seriously, I just can’t stop picking on them!
Overall, I am very grateful I found the Fodilicious stand at the Allergy and Free From Show last weekend. The team are supportive, helpful and able to answer any questions via their website. I am glad to find a new gluten free product that isn’t too sickly sweet but satisfies my sweet tooth craving. I am looking forward to ordering their meals and trying them. Please let me know if you would like to see my impressions on this.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments below or by contacting Fodilicious directly.
Speak to you next week.
