Hi and welcome back to another festive blog post.
I hope you are still loving the Christmas content. Today I wanted to share my favourite gluten free Christmas Recipes to get you in the mood for the holiday baking. These recipes are quick and simple to make but will wow your guests; they will not be able to tell they are gluten free! Let me know what your favourite recipe is in the comments below. C. -x-
My gluten free Christmas Cake
This festive centrepiece is a must at this time of year. I always seem to forget about fruit cakes until I come to bake my Christmas Cake. Don’t worry if you haven’t made your Christmas Cake yet, my recipe can be completed up to 10 days before the big day so you still have time. The benefits of making your own cake mean you know there is no risk of cross-contamination and you can add the fruit you like. For so long, I hated fruit cakes because of the filling. Making my own recipe means I can adapt it to my tastes (queue layers of raisins, cranberries and apricots) and doesn’t include the fruits I hate (figs!). You can check out my recipe here if you want to make your own Christmas Cake.
My Gluten Free Mince Pie Recipe
This was a recipe I created last year and is now highly requested by my family. Last year, we hosted Christmas and I made a big batch of these sweet treats for myself to enjoy while everyone else tucked into the normal ones. It was a good thing I made a lot; I underestimated how much my husbands Grandad would enjoy my mince pies. He requested them again this year and I am delighted to bake them again. You can find the recipe here. I am particularly looking forward to enjoying mine with Brandy cream.
Mini Santa’s Recipe
These mini santas are the perfect bite sized treat that everyone will love! I love how simple they are and yet they taste amazing too. They even get my little niece eating fruit at this time of year too. To make, simply cut up strawberries and grapes and add to a cocktail stick as shown below.
My gluten free Vanilla Sugar Cookie Recipe
There is nothing more festive to me than leaving a plate of cookies out for Santa on Christmas Eve. As I have gotten older, the love of a simple vanilla sugar cookie has only increased with time; except now I eat the cookies and don’t leave them down where my dog will eat them! My gluten free Vanilla Sugar Cookie recipe is perfect to use to create the best gluten free cookies (in my opinion at least!) I love covering these with milk chocolate to make Reindeer and my niece and nephew love the Iced Snowman. You can find the link here if you want to re-create them.
And there you go! My favourite Christmas Recipes that I keep going to every single year. I hope you enjoy them. If you re-create any, please let me know by tagging me on Instagram using #livingcoeliac or by sharing photos directly to my Facebook page.
We are already over half way through the 12 blogs of Christmas! I can’t believe how quickly this month has flown by. I hope you have been enjoying all the festive content.
